Good to know

Clear guidance, in plain terms.

General information to help you understand this area — not personal advice. Rules, thresholds and deadlines can change, so check the latest HMRC guidance or ask us about your circumstances.

Companies House deadlines

A private limited company must normally file its annual accounts with Companies House within nine months of the end of its financial year (21 months from incorporation for a first set). Late filing carries automatic penalties that increase the longer accounts are overdue.

Two filings, one year-end

Most companies have two obligations from a single year-end: accounts to Companies House and a Company Tax Return to HMRC. We prepare both from one clean set of figures.

Small-company rules

Smaller companies may qualify to file simpler accounts. We make sure you meet your obligations without over-disclosing, while keeping the numbers clear for you.
